BOOM! BANG! BOOM! Oh, hello. I was just listening to the Mark Isfeld band play at our school. They brought a whole bunch of instruments and people to our school to perform some of their music for us. It was really cool.
When I go to high school, I am probably going to join the band because it is really fun. my favorite instrument that they had were either the drums or the clarinet. I would want to play the drums more because you would get a lot of solos but you would also have to practice more. The clarinet would be pretty good too because I like the sound of them. It would probably be pretty bad to actually be an instrument. In this case, being a drum set would be like torture because you would be getting hit by sticks quite a bit and a foot would be crashing into the foot petal underneath you. It would probably hurt quite a bit.
The band played quite a bit of songs for us. At first it was hard to tell what song they were playing but then it got easier because you noticed the notes a lot and then you would start thinking that you have heard that song before. I could hear YMCA as one of the first songs they played. When they were introducing the instruments I also heard a bit of Star Wars and a song from the video game Zelda. I also heard something that sounded a little bit like the Babar ending theme song(I recognized it because when I was younger Babar was one of my favorite shows).
It would be really fun to play in a band because you would get to do performances which would be really fun because people will probably like the songs you play. My favorite song that the Mark Isfeld band played was probably My Girl because Mrs. Smith got to go up and the boys in the band were singing to her. I thought that it was kinda funny because Mrs. Smith didn’t really know why they asked her to come up.

For about 5 weeks our class has been doing something called The Alert Program. It is a study about our body’s engines and how to get them to low, high or just right. High can be when you are really hyper and excited, low can be when you are very tired or grumpy and just right can be when you are feeling fine and you are just in between both. Now it is the time to do our Alert Project so I decided to write mine as a blog post.
We learned about many ways to get your engine high, just right or normal. Having a just right engine means that you aren’t very hyper or excited and you feel fine. It may be challenging to stay at just right, but after a while you will find that is it quite easy. If you are trying to stay at just right, try not to do anything that gets you hyper or tired. Don’t think about or listen to anything that gets you hyper or tired either. Instead, think about or listen to something that sounds normal to you or is a mixture or something that can get you hyper and tired at the same time.It is best to have a just right engine when you are at school trying to focus or learn because trying to focus or learn when you are hyper is quite hard and trying to focus or learn when you are tired can be even harder.
Mrs. Smith got us scent canisters and I find that smelling the lavender one is a good way to get your engine from high to just right. We also got some fidget toys to get us from high to just right too because they also work really well. One of my favorite ways to get from high to just right is to listen to some calming but not too calming music. Another great way is by feeling and tasting food because I also find that that works really well too. Sour food usually gets your engine higher and so does bitter food and spicy food. I find that sweet food gets my engine lower because it tastes nice and gentle.
There are also some scent canisters that are great for getting your engine from low to just right like the grapefruit scented one. It isn’t that good to get your engine from low to just right by using the fidget toys because it gets quite boring. There is one fidget toy that works well from low to just right and that is the chair band. It works well because your legs and feet are doing some hard work so it gets your engine higher. Another great way for getting your engine from low to just right is by doing some chair push ups. Listening to fast-paced music also works well too.
You can also use your thinking and emotions to help get your engine to just right. When I think about something that is calm and peaceful, I usually start to calm down quite a bit. If I think of something crazy and hyper, I usually start getting very hyper. Using your emotions is also quite good too because if you feel sad or grumpy, your engine will most likely be low. If you are mad or angry, your engine will probably be higher because when you get mad you can sometimes get a rush of energy and you get really hyper really fast.

Hi!
Our school is currently working on our spring musical Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, so I decided to write this post about how the preparations are going.
Today in music class we learned some of the choreography for Oompa Loompa #3. Oompa Loompa #3 is Veruca Salt’s Oompa Loompa song. It was fun while we were doing the actions because this is the first musical when the people singing the songs are on the stage moving around. Most of the time we would be on the risers doing the actions with our hands and arms.
Our class is doing three songs and those songs are: Oompa Loompa #3, Oompa Loompa #4 and the Finale. We have only learned the started the choreography for Oompa Loompa #3 but once we have it right we will probably learn the choreography or actions for the other songs. My favorite song that we have is the finale because Oopma Loompa #3 and Oompa Looma #4 are both pretty mean-sounding songs because they are the Oompa Loompa songs for Mike TV And Veruca Salt. I like the Finale because it is the only happy and joyful song that we have and because it is fun to sing it. It doesn’t exactly have a chorus but it is still a great song.
I was going to audition for the part of Mike TV but I decided not to because then i might not have been able to do our class songs. Not that many people auditioned for the play but the people who did are really good at it. I think Micheal G, Daniel C, Catie and Rebecca are the people who I think got parts that are in our class. Michael G got the part of Charlie, Daniel C got the part of Mike TV, Catie got the part of either Grandma Josophina or Grandma Georgina and Rebecca got the part of Veruca Salt.
Is your school working on a musical? If so, are you in it?

Hi!
Today our class took a look at Bringing us together and there was a post there called A Wonderful Place which inspired me to write this.
My special place was in Alberta when I lived there. In the forest there me and my friends built a tree house and that was really fun because no one else ever knew about except us and my sisters. It took us a while to build it though because we had to find good pieces of wood and we needed a lot of help from our parents so they could nail the wood onto the tree. It took us about 2 months to finish it but it was worth it because it was a really cool place once it was done. We also brought up some carpets so we weren’t walking on the wood all the time. We even brought up one of my friend’s old chairs so we could sit while we were up there. We would spend almost the whole day when we were up there and we would play in the forest, go to the park and explore the forest. One day we found a river in it and the next day we decided to go swimming in it. The water was really cool and refreshing. We also decided to build a rope swing from one side of the river so if we were on one side we could swing across to the other. It was really fun. The only bad thing about the swing was that one day it snapped and we couldn’t use it again(luckily my friend who was on it landed in the water). It was a really fun river too because it was quite deep so we could dive into it and go underwater.
In the spring the river was nice but it was even better in the summer time. It was better because it was just the right amount of cold and warm. We would go there every day when it was summer. After a while we got bored of the river so we began going back to the tree house. Unfortunately, there was a big storm one night and the next day when we went to the tree house almost all of the wood was blown off by the wind and scattered around on the ground.
What is your special place? do you have one? Leave a comment telling me if you have your own special place!
